John Neill takes Gold at Construction Manager of the Year Awards
John’s excellent work on the widely-acclaimed Remembrance Centre at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire saw him win the Public Infrastructure & Healthcare category of the awards which are organised by the Chartered Institute of Building. John is based at Stepnell’s national head office in Lawford Road, Rugby.
John received his award presented by BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern, at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel where he was one of only nine gold medal winners out of 85 finalists from across the UK. The RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) award-winning £10.1 million Remembrance Centre, which opened in October 2016, provides enhanced and expanded facilities for the growing number of visitors to the Arboretum, the UK’s national focus for remembrance.
Stepnell Ultramarathoner conquers Great Wall of China for Hope for Children

Determined ultramarathon runner Chris Patterson, has completed a 42km marathon across the Great Wall of China in just 6 hours. Chris tackled the race as part of his personal challenge to run 52 marathons in 52 weeks to raise money for international children’s charity Hope for Children.
Lighthouse wins RICS Community Benefit Award

Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts has been crowned the winner of the South West Community Benefit category at the Royal Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards. The award was given for the work carried out during the centre’s major refurbishment project in 2015-16, which was undertaken by Stepnell.
Innovative Birmingham Community Facility takes RICS Regional Award

National disability charity Sense’s pioneering community facility in Selly Oak, Birmingham, has been declared one of the region’s most impressive construction schemes, winning the Community Benefit category in the RICS Awards 2018 for the West Midlands.
