The new building features social function facilities, a restaurant and bar, and conference and committee rooms, as well as bespoke youth training and training facilities. The clubhouse also has external terraces overlooking Poole Harbour giving spectators a bird’s eye view of the Club’s sailing events.

Photovoltaic solar panels have been installed on the roof of the new building to help keep the building’s energy costs down.

The provision of local employment and training is an integral part of the culture of Stepnell. During the build we arranged for a group of 32 Bournemouth & Poole College students studying for a two-year HNC in Construction and the Built Environment to put their classroom learning into practice on site by providing a programme of six workshops for the students. The initiative, which was funded by Stepnell and our specialist subcontractors, supplemented the students’ final project.
