Northampton General Hospital

A series of backlog schemes delivered on behalf of Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust

Delivered under the Procure Partnerships Framework, Stepnell were awarded this challenging project in a live hospital with a number of integrations and co-ordinated works with live services.

This included the replacement of the existing ventilation systems to the Endoscopy, Sterile Services and Main Kitchen departments along with some general refurbishments.  This ensured compliance of the buildings with the current building regulations.  Working in and around existing services in the department provided limited routes available for the new services. We had to carry out a number of surveys and BIM modelling to co-ordinate the existing services with the new.

As the project meant working in a live environment we had to ensure we offered the least amount of disturbance and disruption to the wards. This meant our team working a number of night shifts to minimise cross contamination with live working wards and departments.
