Percy Gee Building, University of Leicester

The design and construction of an £12.5m extension,
delivered in the heart of the University’s busy campus.

Located at the heart of the university’s campus, the Percy Gee Building has undergone a significant transformation. A four-storey extension provides a brand new glazed façade to the building, which fronts onto the newly completed Fielding Johnson Square.

The extension houses facilities including a large food court; double the amount of space for social learning; and a new informatics lab for the study of information science.

The new facilities are far more suited to the diverse range of student groups at the university, with a multi-purpose studio for performance societies, a state-of-the-art media suite, and a central location for support services.

Our works complete the modernisation of the Percy Gee Building, delivering an extension to match the quality of the rest of the Students’ Union.
