Stanbrook Abbey Hotel

Callow End, Malvern

Conversion of former nuns’ cells at this Grade II* Listed building, into 52 luxury en-suite bedrooms and suites at this luxury hotel in Worcestershire

AmaZing Venues, part of the Clarenco Group, which has a market-leading portfolio of iconic and unusual properties across the UK, chose Stepnell to carry out the latest phase of redevelopment at its magnificent Stanbrook Abbey wedding and events venue at Callow End near Malvern in Worcestershire. Dating back to the early 16th century, Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is a former monastery, set in a 26 acre private estate.

Our works involved the conversion of approximately 90 former nuns’ cells at this Grade II* Listed building, a former Benedictine monastery featuring the designs of renowned architect Augustus Pugin, into 52 luxury en-suite bedrooms and suites.

The project, designed by Kidderminster-based architects Howl Associates, also included an impressive new stone-clad extension to the Abbey’s north wing to create a brand new reception area, bar, and an enlarged double height banqueting space. In addition, an impressive new gated entrance has been created for guests within the walled grounds of the Abbey.
