Rugby School Collingwood Centre
Warwickshire
Creating the first newly created boarding house for Rugby School, one of the oldest independent schools in Britain, since the 1930s
After demonstrating our extensive experience of creating exceptional buildings for the independent education sector, we were appointed by Rugby School to build this exciting £5.4 million new boarding house.
The energy efficient three-storey building at the leading co-educational boarding school’s Collingwood Centre, provides high-end en suite study bedrooms for 60 students as well as communal rooms and accommodation for the housemaster, assistant and matron. It features a double height atrium and roof terrace at first floor level.
The sustainable boarding house building incorporated the use of advanced off-site manufactured bathroom pods to provide en-suite facilities that reduced construction time and ensured premium quality. Carbon-saving green technology, including energy efficient boilers and solar photovoltaic panels were installed.
