Princess Road East

Leicester, Leicestershire

Demonstrating our predictive planning skills to deliver the first of four student accommodation projects in Leicester City Centre for Zone Developments

Designed by MAS Architecture, this four-storey block in Princess Road East – just a five-minute walk from the University of Leicester and within easy reach of De Montfort University, features 110 self-contained studio bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a basement communal area, as well as a cinema room and gym.

Stepnell’s Nottingham team successfully delivered this development which has been designed to achieve the highest quality standards. Featuring the use of pre-engineered modular bathroom pods which were delivered on site fully fitted and ready to be installed, ensured the highest of quality standards were achieved, whilst significantly reducing construction times. The development also incorporated energy-saving technology, including heat recovery ventilation systems and air source heat pumps for hot water heating.

Stepnell has since been awarded a second scheme for Zone Developments at West Walk in Leicester City Centre. The project will transform former commercial buildings on the corner of West Walk and Princess Road East to provide 85 self-contained studio bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. The development will also offer communal facilities including a gym, cinema room, common room, study pods and on-site laundry facilities.

“Stepnell is an established and well regarded construction firm and we are delighted to be working with the company once again to create this impressive new student accommodation in the heart of Leicester.”
