New Science Block, Bourne Grammar School

Creating a new spacious, well-equipped, advanced learning and teaching environment for science

Bourne Grammar School is going through a period of expansion and creating an additional 600 school places. This brand new Science Block now provides much needed accommodation for students from Year 7 through to Sixth Form.

Stepnell were appointed to deliver this exciting project for the creation of a new state-of-the-art, two-storey Science Block at Bourne Grammar School in Lincolnshire, which has provided fifteen laboratories and three preparation rooms, as well as staff and student toilet facilities.

Designed by Grayling Thomas Architects, the Science Block was delivered in a live campus environment and completed ready for the start of the new academic year in September 2017.

The stand-alone building features a steel frame construction with its external walls constructed from aluminium and timber cladding, and brickwork with an aluminium standing seam roof.

The frontage of the building has been punctuated by glass panels in vivid colours.

Twenty additional car parking spaces have also been created through the construction programme.
