Montague House

An award-winning development for the creation of a state-of-the-art energy efficient office building

This 1,612m2 purpose built three storey building was designed to create a new head office for a regional solicitors firm, on a very busy arterial road within Rugby town centre. The building utilises an open plan flexible design with break out rooms and individual meeting rooms. Its structure was designed in such a way that it would easily facilitate future extensions, and by incorporating a data and power distribution network, it had the capacity to expand.

With sustainability at the forefront of our solution, the naturally ventilated, heavy mass building incorporates features to reduce overheating without the need of air conditioning, including thermally-controlled motorised louvres to dissipate warm air at night. Aspects that will get the most sun during the summer utilise Brise Soleil. Photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof that are expected to generate up to 6,554 kWh per year.
