Creation of a new state-of-the-art facility in Somerset
Built using locally-sourced construction materials, the new crematorium features cutting-edge environmental engineering including mercury gas abatement technology, helping the facility to meet new EU emission guidelines which come into force in 2013.
Our in house joinery department created all of the major joinery items, many of which have been constructed from oak. External works included installation of gas tanks, landscaping and the creation of an extensive Memorial Garden. Additionally, the Environment Agency required a large swale to be constructed on site to provide attenuation for the storm water produced on site.
Works also included the diversion of a high voltage, overhead cable which was relocated underground.
Due to the skill and experience of the team the project was handed over one month ahead of schedule.
