Great Western Park

Didcot, Oxfordshire

An extensive mixed-use development providing shops, restaurants and residential accommodation for an expanding new village

As part of a significant development at Great Western Park, a new residential community of 3,330 homes near Didcot in Oxfordshire, we delivered a £5.2m combined commercial and residential scheme for Henry Davidson Developments, providing four separate buildings on a single plot.

Our portfolio of works included an 11,000ft2 ASDA food store, with service yard, a large attenuation tank and a 91-space car park; a single-storey building containing two retail units; and two three-storey buildings, each providing four retail shells and ten NHBC registered residential apartments, as well as 35 additional parking spaces. We also delivered service connections to three off-site plots.

With several contractors working in a close environment under a consortia arrangement, the project included a series of sectional handovers and a complex logistics strategy to overcome site restrictions. Additionally, the large, shallow attenuation tank with HGV loadings demanded a detailed planning and approval process throughout all stages of construction and post-construction operations.
