Cambrian Bletchley Park School

Bletchley, Milton Keynes

Creating an independent specialist school to improve the outcome of children with autism, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour

This specialist education school at Bletchley, Milton Keynes, greatly improves the educational outcome of children and young adults by providing support to children with Autism, Asperger syndrome, severe learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and complex needs.

Construction consisted of a new build timber frame clad with render, rainscreen and cementitious boarding. The timber frame was manufactured off site with wall panels and floor cassettes ready for installation on site.

To meet the Client’s budget, Stepnell and the Client team entered in to a value engineering exercise to reduce the value of the scheme by approximately £400k.

The building has a wild flower green roof which produces an attractive range of flora that in turn attracts a wide range of fauna on to the roof.
