Involving our Clients in fundamental design decisions, through informing them of the advantages and disadvantages of different options leads to fully developed schemes. At Whitecross High School the Client understood the implications of maximising educational efficiency through thermal mass, forced ventilation and good daylighting and accepted the compromise of reduced architectural flair. The Head Teacher was also engaged in the security strategy from arrangements to gain access into the school grounds to key siting and positioning of CCTV to suit the School’s specific needs as well as Secure by Design.
