Training
Stepnell uses accreditation through BS9001 and our auditors to confirm our training is adequate to provide the right people.
Stepnell takes its training responsibility seriously and has instigated a formal annual training review for all staff. This involves the Line Manager identifying any training needs with the individual and discussing their role and competencies within the team. A Director will arbitrate on the need and the Deputy Quality Manager will organise approved training courses.
In addition to this formal annual process Contract Managers may request specific contract training for staff where a specific need exists. This allows Contract Managers to react to issues on their contracts.
Stepnell has a robust system for identifying lapsing qualifications and for maintaining the training. This covers first aid training, CSCS/CPCS cards and more.
Stepnell is registered with ConstructionSkills and is working towards accreditation with Investors in People. In addition, Stepnell is recognised by many teaching establishments as an appropriate employer for site based training in vocational subjects at Level 2 and 3. To meet this standard Stepnell has trained many of our staff as approved Site Based Recorders for assessing course work and experience.
Our commitment to training is further demonstrated in our leading role with The Minster College Training Initiative – For more information visit The Minster College Training Initiative website here.
