Interior and exterior refurbishment of the main atrium area of the science schools building. Including installation of 3 storey steel framed structure within the atrium, to house teachers study pods. Specific Elements – Working within a live school environment, with some noisy works being planned around the school exam timetable, to avoid disruption to pupils.
Close involvement with the client and design team, to value engineer the project to complete on budget and on time. Recycling existing period bricks to reduce expensive redecoration and to retain the character of the building. Note, we also carried out the previous phase (phase 6) with the same design team. Also carried out another project for the school – extension to their sports centre – good example of repeat business from a satisfied client.
