Building Area 2694m2 (GIFA) 3 storey steel frame building Accomodation for Primary Care Centre including 13 GP consulting rooms, 4 nurse treatment rooms, treatment suite with minor operations facility, physrotheraphy suite with consulting and treatment rooms and a gym, district and community nursing facilities, social services, audiology, reception and adminstration. Plus retail pharmacy. The Primary Care Centre is one of three buildings that comprise the redevelopment of the former Malmesbury Cottage Hospital. The local GP practice (The Gable House Partnership) and Wiltshire Primary Care Trust worked together to promote one of the country's frist cottage hospital redevelopements.ey selected Brackley Investments Ltd and The Order of St John Care Trust as development partners in May 2006. the overall development plan was for a new 2600m2 Primary Care Centre, an 80 Bed Nursing/Care Home with a Day Care Centre and 28 Extra Care flats.

Stepnell worked with the developer on the winning bid and undertook the role of Project Manager and Design and Build Contractors for all three buildings. The Primary Care Centre design adopted the principals of heavy thermal mass and good natural ventilation to provide an internal environment with improved control of summertime temperatures and improved levels of indoor air quality. The new Primary Care Centre was formally opened by HRH Prince Charles on Friday 21st November 2008.
