80 bed care home 3492m2 (GIFA) Day care centre 218m2 (GIFA) 2 storey timber frame building. Care Home - 80 ensuite bedrooms in 4 wings with separate dining rooms and services, lounges, sitting rooms and assisted bathrooms. Communal facilities included reception, heart lounge with bar and shop, hairdressers and communal gardens. Support facilities included central kitchen, laundry and administration. Day Care - Lounge, assisted daily living centre, intermidiate care lounge and dining.
The 80 bed care home and day care centre is one of three buildings that comprise the redevelopment of the former Malmesbury Cottage Hospital. The Malmesbury Care Home was the first design that the client had been invited to contribute from first principals and their first care home complient with the 2006 Revisions of part L Building Regulations. The care home was formally opened by HRH Prince Charles on Friday 21st November 2008
